RUSSIA

The Russian Federation is a transcontinental country that is located in the Eastern Europe and North Asia. At 17,125,200 square kilometers, Russia is counted as one of the largest country in the world by area. It is also the ninth most populated country with about 146.77 million people. In the western, European part of the country, about 77% of the population lives there. Moscow, Russia's capital, is counted as one of the largest cities throughout the world. With Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia,and North-Korea, Russia shares land borders from northwest to southeast.The current president of Russia is Vladimir Putin. Russia is one of the most beautiful countries throughout the world. It is well-known for it's tourist attractions and landscapes.
                                         
                                                   STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM

The State Hermitage Museum is  a museum of art and culture that is located in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It is also the second largest museum in the world. In 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired and impressive collection of paintings from the Berlin merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky, the museum was founded.On 7th of December, Saint Catherine's Day, the museum celebrates the anniversary of its founding. The museum itself has been open to public since 1852. Its collection compromise over three million items, including the largest paintings in the word. Also the museum has several exhibition centers abroad.

RED SQUARE


Red square is the city square of Moscow, Russia.Since the city's major streets, which connect to major highways, originate in the square the Red Square is often considered to be the central square of Moscow. Buildings surrounding the Red Square are all significant in some respect like the embalmed body of Vladimir Ilych Lenin contained in Lenin's Mauseloum. Nearby the south of the square is the elaborate brightly domed Kremlin and the palaces.


Russians have preserved lots of national traditions that has been passed on from their ancestors. Many people believe in omens and legends, so the Russians still celebrate pagan holidays. Holidays such as Easter and Christmas are passes on from Christianity. Old traditions are passed on from generation to generation. Maslenitsa is an old Russian tradition for remembrance of the dead, but the Russians turned the sad holiday into a jolly one with full of fun and entertainment. This celebration takes place in 4th-10th of March.
Russian people's culture has a long tradition of achievement in many fields like literature, folk-dancing, philosophy, classical music and such.Turkic and Scandinavian have a big influence on early Russian cultures like pagan beliefs.
